Protein Donuts

I’m so excited about these protein donuts! I’ve had a mini donut tray in my cabinet for so long and after recently stocking up with Kodiak Cakes Flapjack mix I had to use it!

These donuts, really a mix between muffin and pancake are packed with protein and are a delicious and easy grab-and-go breakfast idea! My morning commute’s just got a little sweeter πŸ˜‰

I had to make two separate kinds of topping, of course. One for me and one for the man! I made a peanut butter and crushed almond topped donut and a maple and coconut sugar one. Both were amazing!

The Recipe was really simple. Β Follow the instructions below to make the donut batter and top with whatever you like.

Donuts

2 Cups Kodiak Cake Flapjack Mix

1 Cup Almond Milk

1 Egg

1 Ripened Smashed Banana

1 Tsp Cinnamon

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Smash ripened banana into mixing bowl and combine wet ingredients first. Β Add in Flapjack mix to blend together. Bake for 14-18 minutes. (Check doneness by sticking a toothpick into the donuts. When it comes out clean, the donuts are done)

For the Toppings

1 tsp crushed almonds and 1/2 tsp peanut butter per donut

Maple and Coconut Sugar- Mix light maple syrup and coconut sugar until it becomes thick. Dip individual donuts face down into mixture and let cool.
